In the world of Rifts Earth, magic has returned with a vengeance, due to the eruption of “ley lines,” magical streams of energy that criss-cross the land. Where ley lines intersect, a nexus point forms and Rifts, gateways to other worlds and dimensions, can result. From these Rifts pour monsters, aliens, and demons, along with many other beings. Humanity, devastated by war and the eruption of the ley lines, must choose to fight against these newcomers or to fight alongside them.
