The gates were developed over 50 million years ago by the Ancients and can be used to open wormholes between different planets and even different galaxies. It has nine chevrons and 39 glyphs that can be used to dial the address of thousands of inhabited planets.

The model is made of a high quality polystone, which holds the detail exceptionally well. The gate itself has a diameter of 9.25″ (23.5 cm. It is an individual piece that can be slotted into the display stand, which bears the SG-1 symbol from the planet Earth.
